Our structure
AIDS Alert is an educational non-governmental organisation
(NGO) with its international secretariat in London. It
currently has an office in Ghana and works with partner
organisations in Malawi and the United Kingdom. It employs
a small team of professionals and practitioners to help
coordinate and support its work in the field.
AIDS Alert is managed by
an international governing body with extensive backgrounds
in areas such as HIV/AIDS and development.
AIDS Alert encourages,
supports and values diversity - we do everything we can
within our resources to offer equality of opportunity to
all.

Our approach
AIDS Alert's response to this epidemic is one that
emphasises on prevention and control - 'Striking before you
are caught out'.
AIDS Alert believes in a united and focussed approach in
fighting this epidemic. It is our belief that our
complementary efforts working in partnership with other non-
governmental organisations (NGOs) and HIV/AIDS agencies,
would prompt large scale prevention programmes, providing an
amplified influence in the fight against the human impact of
this epidemic. Through such collaborative efforts, we will
also be able to maintain low prevalence rates in the regions
that we work
We work within a clear framework of international standards
in a non-partisan way and welcome positive and innovative
partnerships from other organisations and agencies, in our
fight to stop the spread of HIV/AIDS

Our areas of operation
AIDS Alert is a global outfit and will consider working in
other parts of the world affected by the HIV/AIDS epidemic.
However due to funding restrictions and other limited
resources we are constrained to specific programmes and
countries that fit within our current work programme.
Presently, we operate in the UK, Ghana and Malawi. AIDS
Alert is currently in the process of developing new
programmes in Uganda, Sierra Leone and parts of South
Eastern Asia. Our long-term strategy is to systematically
build an effective portfolio of HIV/AIDS preventive and
control programmes worldwide.
